At the Lab, we distinguish between an “idea” and a “project”:

  • An Idea is something that anyone in the Lab wants to try out, research, explore, experiment with, or build quickly. We don’t publicly announce all of the ideas we are working on, because most ideas will evolve as they develop, and may end without any public-facing results.
  • A Project is an idea that graduates into a commitment by the Lab to pursue at a larger scale, including either a longer time period and/or intent to have real-world users or release significant open source code, etc.
